Also known as 'Edinburgh's Disgrace' this monument was built to commemorate the Scottish soldiers and sailors who lost their lives fighting in the Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815).
Built in the 1820's construction quickly ran out of budget and so instead of a full size monument, only one side was completed where it remains to this day unfinished.
